I continue to increase my knowledge base through business courses through Liberty University on- line in an effort to obtain my MBA. I am currently a Director of the Surry County Chamber of Commerce, Past District Commander of the Surry American Legion, District 4, Currently the finance officer of American Legion District 4, past Commander of American Legion post 160 Surry and serve on the Surry County School Board. I am a driven, organized, and thoughtful leader able to lead multiple fast-track projects simultaneously. I have thorough and effective communication skills. I am a proactive problem-solver. I utilize a relationship-building acumen, which is applied to team and customers. I have experience with managing power station related construction and modification projects. I support business and economic development in the county. I have developed worker motivational skills using my supervisory experience. I lead a department using the Human Performance improvement method which is based on the six sigma evaluation process.

I serve as an elected representive for my district. I serve on the career and techology education board. I represent my school system by serving on the National School Board's Advocacy Institute. I have served as Chairman of the Board for the majority of the years that I have been a member.

Perform duty as the Department Human Performance Coordinator. I am responsible for reviewing incidents to determine the cause and the failure of Human Performance tools that may have prevented the incident and consideration of actions to take to prevent re-occurrence. Maintain department web site with current Human Performance data. Review the data to determine negative trends to aid in prevention of HU events/errors. Develop and present monthly department performance indicators. Use analytical tools to develop trends of human performance errors and events. Support root cause evaluations, apparent cause evaluations and provide review for project implementation documents using my 50-59 training.
During outages I represent the department manager as the outage control center coordinator for the department. As the department representative, I am responsible for insuring that all department activities support the outage schedule.
During a station emergency I act as the emergency operations support center coordinator. I am responsible for coordination of damage control teams who are assigned to investigate and repair plant equipment.
