Compensation and Benefits: • Strong base salary commensurate with experience Monthly and quarterly bonus potential Paid training Health insurance available 401k and pension Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics or related field Professional Engineer’s License is a plus but not required Four or more years’ experience selling in the Design-Build market Technical aptitude to be in a position to recognize and develop solutions to client problems Demonstrated ability to consistently meet and/or exceed established sales goals Advanced presentation and communication skills Demonstrate a strong work ethic, initiative, self-motivation, and meticulous attention to detail Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism and commitment Strong technical writing skills Strong negotiating skills Technologically savvy Job Functions: The Design-Build Project Development Specialist will report to and work with the Design-Build Manager to perform the following functions: Sales – • Target owners, construction managers, architects, engineers, and existing clients to sell company products and services through, but not limited to, Design-Build and Design-Assist procurement models, and Energy Services Performance Contracts. Prospect target clients by developing call plans, securing appointments and performing project development activities such as regular face-to-face meetings to secure orders for products and services offered. Determine and assess a client’s needs in coordination with internal business associates, provide solutions, negotiate deals, close sales and maintain client interests through project completion. Capacity to understand a customer’s organization, identify key decision makers and pinpoint your sponsor or sponsors. Understand existing customer vendor relationships and political climate. Ability to answer questions and objections presented by a customer and turn each question or objection into a benefit statement. Maintain relationships and favorable contacts with current and potential customers to pursue any additional sales opportunities. Maintain on-going relationships with clients to anticipate and resolve potential problems. Participate in site visits. Travel as required. Administrative – Interface with proposal specialists, project managers, engineers, and executive management (internal business associates) to develop, write, and finalize competitive quotes and proposals in response to, but not limited to, owner requests, construction manager requests, OFCC Requests for Qualifications/Proposals (RFPs), and Ohio Revised Code 153 RFPs. Facilitate meetings and presentations between potential clients and project teams. Assist in formulating standard / routine proposals in conjunction with internal business associates across various functional groups. Assist internal business associates, as appropriate, in developing project plans, defining roles and responsibilities in response to scopes of work for each Design-Build / Design-Assist project. Communicate to internal business associates the outcome of negotiations / proposals, focusing on conveying the expectations set forth for each group, i.e. clear details, critical timeframes and expectations. Track and report on the status of all active proposals and projects. Maintain on-going relationships with the internal business associates to anticipate and resolve potential problems.
